PB Heavy Duty

Purpose-built for large-scale projects — housing, commercial walls, and continuous production with cementitious materials. The distal arm is fitted for a pump, and the whole machine is engineered for low maintenance in real site conditions.

Overview

The machine behind our Florida housing projects.

The PB Heavy Duty uses a SCARA-arm architecture engineered around one principle: avoid complexity and high maintenance. It configures, installs, uninstalls, cleans, and repairs without specialist crews — and it has printed the walls of permitted homes standing in Florida today.

PB Heavy Duty construction 3D printer components
  1. DistalOuter arm section — mounts the extruder and carries the material line to the print head.
  2. ProximalInner arm section linking the mast to the distal arm — housing-scale SCARA geometry, simple and low-maintenance.
  3. TrackThe rail system adds a travel axis — the print area extends along the track for full walls and structures.
  4. Duet Controller / Wi-Fi AntennaBrowser-based control via Duet Web Control — supervise and adjust from any device that can connect to Wi-Fi.
  5. CartThe carriage that rides the track, carrying mast and arm along the travel axis — repositioned without a crane.
  6. Z Rail MastThe vertical axis: the arm climbs the mast layer by layer up to full print height.

Engineering choices

Simple by design — because job sites punish complexity.

Reliability

Low-maintenance architecture

Fewer motion systems than a gantry, no field calibration marathons, and parts shipped from Florida — not overseas.

Scalability

Modular for large projects

Reposition and continue printing across the site — the machine scales to project size instead of the other way around.

Proof

Housing-tested
